Yeah but then a Japanese fellow brings his hotted up street registered Evo along and breaks the V8 supercar lap record record at Eastern Creek :P
Not being too serious there BTW

Put him in a v8supercar and see if he can do it again? sure there are faster cars but that's the point of having the control over regs right? So that money isn't poured into HP and competitive racing is maintained

Bathurst seems to bring the best out of Murph though, so wouldn't rule him out just yet.

I know that irrespective of what a car looks like, Im watching it for the racing, not what the car looks like.

Comparing formula series open wheelers to tin tops...

Tin top racing has ALWAYS been about the manufacturer as much as it has been about the racing, no doubt in my mind. Tin top racing adheres to the age old adage "race it on Sunday, sell it on Monday" and this is PRECISELY why it is about the cars as much as it is about the racing. The general populace form emotional attachments to brands etc, this sells cars, this is why manufacturers initially went auto racing.

Either way, anything is going to have to be pretty special to top Supertouring racing.... 8)

But the Supertourers are even more controlled and less diverse than the Supercars :P

yeah, I know you mean the 2l supertours

Those other supertourers are just leeching the name off the best ever saloon car formula in history. So folk like me get all nostalgic and go along thinking it's kind of the same but not really/I'm actually really looking forward to it.

The racing is so exciting, and argy bargy, whats not to like?

It leave WTCC in the dust thats for sure. Who wants to listen to low revving diesels and FF chassis's, with the same team locking out the front 3 places at most races?

Watching the OZ v8s in person is stunning.

Go the Giz, this is his year hopefully :)

Exactly. No true racing fan will disagree. When it comes to it the V8s is the most competitive series in the world.

Don't no about that DTM and Super GT in Japan are very competitive.

Agreed, but unfortunately, we dont get any feeds in NZ from those series.

The BTCC of the 90's was awesome also, apart from Radisich hitting the bridge at Donnington :(
