Autodec carpets, Anyone used them...

Postby lorolla24 » Sat Feb 18, 2012 7:26 pm

AUTODEC
I've been looking at buying some of these for my KE35. Went and saw them at the factory in Auckland and look pretty good. They advertise on trade me and do heaps of models.

Has anyone bought them? What do you think?
What do they fit like?

Don't want to get them if they bunch up or don't sit in the car well.
Great price tho.

I have used them for carpets for my old mk2 escort and HZ holden in '01, 02' kinda era
They have been around forever and are good.

The carpets fit well - pay the extra and get the better grade of carpet (cut pile, not loop) - but be prepared to spend some time on the job, and use offcuts of household carpet in the footwells to pack the floor up so that the carpet fits nicely.

I fitted a set of Autodec carpets into a RX7 many years ago, terrible carpets, didnt even look like fitting(customer supplied carpets,)too baggy here and there, too short over there, poor shaping etc,I have fitted many carpets from www.knoxautocarpets.com.au ,always fit beautifully,no need to pack out carpets with offcuts.Always put down underfelt before fitting the carpets.Cost A$130 a set +freight(loop pile),wide range of colours.

They are absolute rubbish according to my brother, he's been an autotrimmer for 20+ years so knows what he is talking about. Get the Australian ones if they make them for your car.

autodec .. nothing wrong with them they used to make them for toyota?ford etc when they were made in nz have used them in 2 of my cars my dad has them in his jags as well ...

i went for knoxautocarpet in my ae101 corolla when i had it ... better quality and range of colours etc and all of them were moulded to suit .. but yes a good felt underneath does help ... similar to what it does in yuor home carpet
Nothing to see here ...
