Changing fluids

Thinking it would be a good idea to do a fluid change and wondering the following
How much oil do I need for the engine? (think its 5 or 6L)
How often should the gearbox oil be changed?

This is for the 2jzgte auto Aristo

Google says 5L, google wouldn't lie.... would it??

If you haven't done the gearbox 'oil' before, may as well do that too. Perhaps get it flushed at the same time.

Trans is something like 30-50,000k's. Do it regularly and it'll last a shitload longer.

Oil is a close enough description for this cowboy. Think it maybe 5L to enough in the engine but a little more to be full. Can't remeber from last time. Now to fuiger out how to change the box fluid

Lol, yeah fair enough, not sure what the auto trans fluid is either so was just covering my arse :lol:

Take it to an auto specialist, get them to flush it and change the filter.

5.3 litres of 0w/5w/10w-30/40 for the engine, or 6.3 from completely dry (which it wont be)

Also, when you drain it, make sure to jack it up from the side opposite the sump plug, as otherwise you leave about 300mls of old shite in there.

I agree with the above too, get the gearbox flushed and refilled otherise your new ATF will just be diluted with the left over stuff.
