I fill up everytime, $20 a shot is bugger all fuel, would nearly have to do it daily :lol:

~300km open road, Whangarei -> Dargaville -> kai iwi -> Dargaville. (straight roads, possibly cruising above speed limit)

~180km Dargaville -> Auckland. (lots of traffic)

~100km Town / City driving.

Just driving to work and back, a tank(40L) lasts me almost a fortnight.

Back when I drove a mini and it was only 85c a litre, $20 was loads! But that was over 12 years ago

i always just fill it when it hits 3 quarters empty which is about 40-45L

i tried to fill the bike up a few days back as i didint know how much was in it (turns out it was nearly full anyway) and the lady at the counter had a fat cry at me cause my fill up was under the 2 Litre minimum - she then had another cry at me when i joked about going out again and putting a couple of litres in someone elses car out there to make her happy >_<

I never really paid attention but I thought the 2l minimum was for the purposes of accuracy? We never had a problem back in the day with multiple small sales of less than 1 litre when people were filling containers.

Next time she has a cry - grab her by the moustache and get her to explain why it matters.

I hate stopping for gas but on the daily shit box i usually chuck $10 at a time :lol:

but my other cars i fill up
Also push it to its limit just cause i cant be assed stopping, have run out of gas countless times in the daily. Once sat an hour and a half in onehunga waiting for a mate to come with gas as both gas stations close to me was shut and the next one was a good 45min walk away and it was 3am haha

Daily I fill up whenever I run out

Supra I put $30/40 or so in when I go to drive it, as I only really drive it on the weekends now..

I managed to drive to Wellington from Auckland on a tank of 98 in my old AE11 Levin, 690kms or something around that, probably used 2 litres of oil though

I fill it, why the **** would you want to go to a gas station more than you had too? 580ish ks then another 41ish litres please.

Yeah I've never had a problem with buying 1l for the mower, or when i worked as a pumpie selling 1l for a scooter. I used to laugh when people would come in and get a 90c fill up for the nifty 50 :lol:

My ute only ever goes above 1/2 a tank when I go out of town. $20 gets me approx 10 days of daily driving to and from work including coming home for lunch every day. Unfortunately due to the cost of Rego the super cheap to run 4D56 will be making way for a 3.8 V6.

The gas you mite save from carting less wieght around you would lose through evapouration when you take your fuel cap off every day lol

My time is more valuable that any fuel saving I might get from having less weight in the car. To me I cant bothered going to the gas station every other day...

As it is I only go every 2 or 3 weeks or 800km, which ever comes sooner.

I chuck $50 of 98 each time I hit petrol light. In the Toreno that lasts around 220km which for me is about a fortnight of driving. Based on the fact I bus to work.

I get about 650km between fills, definitely need bigger (i.e. existent) turbo. I used to put in $20-60 a time, but $&#$% - as everyone else has said I'd rather get where I need to go than have to stop at the petrol station all the time for gas. The difference you're making with the ~10-30kg difference in average weight by doing small top ups is probably less significant than the extra interest you get by having the extra $50 in your bank account for a week longer (i.e. SFA).

Do the same with the daily - about 650k to a tank, fill to the top worry about it again in a couple of weeks time.

Had a small laugh to myself yesterday when filling the Corolla. Guy in an Evo8 putting $20 in (of 98 so not even 10L) :lol:

I always put $20 in. But I generally buy a drink or something at the same time - so it's not like I'm at the gas station JUST for the <10L fuel hah
