I loved the post race conference. Hamilton trying as hard as he could to keep the grin off his face, Grosjean with the biggest smile ever and couldn't keep it under control.

Damn those Maccas looked good. Not only the best looking car with no stepped nose, but obviosuly quick as well! Stoked to see them back at the front.

Was expecting more from the Mercedes in Q3 as well, they been looking pretty hooked up all weekend. LOL at the Ferrari faggots, couldnt happen to a nicer team

Gotta wonder just how much Red Bull relyied on there blown diffuser last year to make them look so fast, the cars just looked quite a handful from all the onboards.

Gutted about Kimi, but oh well, the car definitly has the pace it seems as shown by Grow John, be interesting to see if he can slice through the field in the race tomorrow.

Shaping up to be a good race, cant wait. I'm actually picking Button to take the win, he's always just so good on tyres, where as Hamilton can be a bit erratic.


Also, Koba was awesome to watch, honestly never seen a F1 car sideways so many times!

Well if the first quali session is anything to go by, this seasons set to be the best...EVER!

No surprises to see the McLarens at the pointy end, all through testing they had no issues and the car was planted the entire time. Im extremely happy with where Schu has ended up given quali has never been his strong point. Given his undoubted overtaking prowess on the opening laps, coupled with the top speed advantage Mercedes have, I wouldnt be surprised to see him split the McLarens on the run to the first corner, or failing that, if he can stay close enough to utilise the double DRS zones, hopefully he can pick them both off in the first few laps.

So many unknowns still though, especially in regard to the tyre deg that the cars will see throughout the race. Especially given that the tracks temp will be on a constant decline from the race start, its going to be hard to form a clear picture until half way through the race atleast.

There will be a huge amount of head scratching going on right now in the Ferrari and Red bull motorhomes, and RBR better pray their car is kind on its tyres or it will be eaten up in the drs zones by alot of the cars running around it with higher top speeds.

I'm not sure the Mercedes are as fast as qualifying suggested, they seemed to be using DRS a large percentage of the lap, more so than others, from what I saw. So given its use is limited to 2 zones come the race, they may be a little slower, but still fast with their tricky back end.

Ha just get Sky cheapos! F1 is pretty much the only reason I have it. Vettel almost took it out, looks like the McLarens will put up more of fight this year, he's still going to take it out though. Button winning is ok, much better than that other driver.

Sky is a rip off. Not interested in paying that much just to watch the few races I can without being awake at stupid oclock.
They should make F1 a pay per view option or something. So you can just watch what you want.

Awesome start to the season!

Wanna see some better replays of the last carnage and how it all unfolded. Stoked to see Kimi get 6th or 7th I think it was. Red Bulls look to have good race pace, where as the Mercs have good qually pace, but average race pace. Any Macca seem to have the alround package. Although I guess we shouldnt draw too many conclusions from the first race of the season.

Does anyone know how the commentary works this year?
I thought we would have had Brundle commentating? Didnt actually mind Coutlhard and the other guy, just wondering how it works. I know BBC and Sky UK have split the coverage, so does that mean we get Brundle only on the races that Sky have exclusive rights to, and other two on BBC races?

Was talking to a aussie mate, and he was saying there coverage still had Brundle commentating.

GRRRR that $&#$% me off so much knowing that in Oz they are getting the new feed from sky UK, yet the plebs in NZ (as sky see f1 fans) get given the cheapest, nastiest option being the bbc feed

It will work like this thornz...Sky tv nz will spend the least possible and charge the most they can to give us nothing of the new amazing sky uk feed.

We will be given the reject commentators from the sky tv takeover for the ENTIRE season and expected to suck it up. If more of you on here paid for sky/telstra, I would start a petition asking them to start giving us the correct feed from sky UK but of course, that would cut into their bottom line so it isnt going to happen.

The extra stuff theyre getting in the UK is amazing, full control of all camera feeds via your remote control, you can pick all the onboards and pitlane cameras at will, and look at the telemetry etc. Why on earth sky nz have chosen to ignore this amazing new era in tv is beyond me, oh no thats right, its all about profit and ripping off a small market of customers. It would NEVER happen with the rugby or cricket, or any other major sporting event, but motorsport fans?? hey, $&#$% em!

Im going to have to upgrade my internet plan now so I can stream the uk feed in my shed like I did all weekend for this race, and simply record the boring bbc feed down in the house for my collection.

Can some l33t member on here please please let me know the best way to record what Im streaming on my laptop?

I know this is a very broad question as it will vary based on the quality of the stream, but does anyone here have a rough idea of how much bandwidth I would have used over the weekend, given that I streamed over 10 hours of the sky uk F1 feed?

Im expecting an email from Telstra today informing me that Im about to go over the limit of my plan, and it only started 5 days ago or so

Very unhappy about having to spend more on bandwidth but at the same time, I would be far more unhappy having to listen to the bbc feed for the next 19 race weekends, and missing out on all the extra f1 shows that sky uk are screening

I'd say I used 1 GB yesterday from watching the race, which was about 2 hours, So guessing you probably used 5-6 GB
