Crooks- Is this your car?

Postby Hunter » Fri Mar 30, 2012 3:36 pm

Auckland city
I was burgled by someone driving this car. I've been on Honda forum but they all say its a Toyota Levin or BZ model.

Image

I am looking for the whereabouts of this car. Do you know it?

Image

Is it stolen? Well they were using the keyfob to turn on and off the alarm.

If you see them, beware they are crooks. They stole over 6k worth of stuff from me. They will steal from you.

The more people looking and or familiar the better.

Feel the pressure bastards I will find you.

The ass end looks like a AE111 BZ

But for the love of god, can you put the photos on somewhere OTHER THAN imageshack. That site is a $&#$% joke.

This is all I was given by the police. I have to request the police file and find a better way to copy it other than just a screen capture. I watched the video and the definition was much better so I question why I was given crap.

^ Yeah, I did see this on stuff.co.nz a while back?

Hate to say it but if they have not found them yet then chances are these scum managed to get away with it. If you cant get a better image or video from the source/cops it might be time to move on?

And when you say a while back, you mean like 2001, right? Because that's when phone cameras were about this quality....

Mate if I could have gotten the HD image I would have. This is what the cops gave me, screen capture, then pasted to a word doc. It was a 7kb image. I've enhanced it as much as I can with photoshop.

I've got to get the RAW file. Its from a World Cup camera so state of the art 6 months ago.

I watched the video within 3 hours of the robbery. Mate I could read my number on my letterbox, the logo on their shirt "RHINO". So I am baffled why the cops gave me this. Either they wanted the excuse NOT to catch them or either not provide me enough information to catch them myself. Either way it doesn't sound like the cops are in business to solve crime or catch crooks.

Effectively a censored image.

I'm going to request the file next week.. I'll see how that goes.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are privacy laws preventing them giving you the files.
Thank the "civil liberties" hippies etc for that.

Well considering the camera was pointed at my daughters window, maybe not. Seems funny they would overlook a crime in that fact alone. There was 40% more above that.

I also wonder if the source of the video/image edited it prior to releasing it to the cops.

The more of you that see this means that if the car is theirs, it impedes the use and sale of the car. I'm guessing the reason their thieves if it is a bz-r with 2k worth of mags..

Keep yur eyes out! it's proactively protecting YOUR property.

I think the more realistic scenario is as I suggested above.
Or, the cop that answered your query didn't know how to do it better.

No. I had an assumption that cause i saw it, the police would action it. Stupid me... It took the 4-5 days to collect the video and 3 weeks to get me this crap.

I'm a type of person, professional, that assumes people do what their paid for... Obviously that's not the case..

I should have figured something was up when the security person said "I know when you leave, and when your daughter leaves". so I'm somewhat concerned it was an employee or temp of that company. Spend all night going through footage.

What kills me is I drove up 10min after they finished.

It's not the only camera that caught them. There are 3. This image is from 250m, the other 30m and another less an 5m.

Who is working to protect who's rights? There a sign on the front of my house saying your on video. 100% legal evidence.

Mate my taxes pay those #*{*\+].

I know your upset. But I don't think you have the full story.
Go to the police station and ask for your file. Not the picture but the car file.
What if the car or plates are stolen? If it was as simple as them using there own car then they will have been caught. Get the full facts then whine like a bitch if justified.

That sucks man, are they eden park cameras? If so I am pretty sure they are pretty high quality - ones that I have played with on secure sites can zoom on a number plate and be perfectly readable at ~400m

I'd ask to sit down and watch the video with the police again - should be within your rights there - site the fact the video was much better quality than the images supplied.

And how could I post without noting you must have learnt how to enhance images with this guy
