URGENT: 12V Generator, Petrol Powered Needed

Postby MrOizo » Mon Apr 02, 2012 11:01 am

Hey people,

Some one here must work at or know of a Generator place.

We are sending gear to the islands TOMORROW and as a contingency, we need a 12v generator to put in the container.

It is to power and charge a 12v system.

Normally we have it connected to out vehicles which have a dedicated alternator but we are not taking the vehicle with us.

Needs to be new, good reliable brand.

Any help appreciated!

sounds like you need a generator and a charger, a 12v generator will put out 12v, which wont charge batteries. how much current does the load draw?

What sort of current you are talking about?

You could get a cheap 240V generator and a cheap 1000W computer PSU....

Thnks for the replies guys. At this stage we're holding off with the generator.

Our last generator was a 11hp Honda motor and had a belt to a Bosch 12v alternator.

This was good till the tank started to rust and fuel leaking from who knows where.

I will keep an eye out and we may look at sending one if there are issues with the current setup.

Cheers.

Hire one of these when you get to Fiji
Petrol - yes
12V alternator - yes

Just tow it behind your hi tech trailer!
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
