Where to buy aluminium plates in AKL?

I need a flat Aluminium sheet, preferably 3mm thick around 500x300 mm in size...

I've been to bunnings/mitre10/ everywhere but they only stock useless crap, should have known!

Where to find above in auckland...?

Best to tey an engineering shop or alloy fabricator,
The likes of ullrich, nalco etc only usually sell full sheets,

ulrich aluminium in manukau will cut bits to the size you want. if you want a full 2400x1200 sheet they have a few outlets round that sell them, but manukau is the only one that does cutting to size.

If you wanna go for a bit of a drive North, go see Warkworth Sheetmetals on Woodcocks Road. Good bunch of guys, often have off-cuts they'll sell for bugger all.

Ullrich will cut for you. They can be expensive (in my opinion). Ask if they have any off cuts.
