Hey mate, I will be there with bells on. :)

Im going to be removing my circuit spec suspension this arvo and replacing it with the stock bilsteins/springs to help with weight transfer and try to help me get off the line better

I have met Richard everytime I have attended, I recall he ran an 11.2 last time we were up there

I have also met Aaron, as he eliminated me from the event we raced at hehe

I will be there with no sticky rubber, and 6 year old, almost down to the wear marks, rock hard potenzas lol

Leaving welly at 6.30 to try and get in the gate by 8. Last time I was there by 7.45 but still didnt get scrutineered until a few minutes before 10, which left almost no time to strip out loose/unnecessary items before the heats so trying to avoid that this time.

See you there mate

Nice pics Loonie :) Ah, so thats what the front of Richards car looks like? I was only ever acquainted with the back of it hehe

Great to meet all of you guys on the day (Blake, Evan, Kurt) and to re-meet Richard and Steven. Its was fun with our own small C22 group full of JZ's and of course, the mighty 500kw space shuttle ;)

Thanks alot to Blake for offering me the use of your DR's, next time Ill grow a pair and take you up on the offer before the first runs of the day. That is, of course, if you happen to have some available again.

P.S Its clear to me that take great enjoyment from helping others out, so if there is anything I can do to help you with your current project, I would consider it a priviledge to be able to chip in :)

Anything that doesnt involved abusing my back to be honest.

Detailing would have to be my specialty though, and Im sure I could work wonders with your farm hack, or any other cars that are overdue for some loving ;)

Haha, not quite enough clams there mate ;)

As predicted, tyres and times were terrible (in the 14's but higher mph of 110).

It was explained at the drivers briefing that the track had been completely covered in some kind of oil 2 weeks prior by the aerodrome and a couple of V8's lunched it on the line spilling fluids too so traction was non existent. I was axle tramping so bad that my boost controller shook itself out of the dash and my glovebox unlocked itself lol

Unfortunately the event was pretty well oversold, late starting, and with a pointless long lunch break so $100 for 2 runs, or less than 30 seconds of track time didnt go down well with alot of people *harumph* Anyways...They would have made a good amount of money so hopefully when they open the new track, they can co-ordinate the days a little better

At the end of the day it was just nice to meet another group of rwd guys up there and talk shit all day :)

Thats exactly why I'm not keen to drive to Masterton pay $100 and get 2 runs personally I'd be pi$$ed if that was how my day went.

To be fair though, Its never been oversold like this before, so Im guessing that as it was their fundraiser for the new strip, they decided to put the importance of the almighty dollar before the value for money of the entrants. They were still processing people at 10am, when scrutineering cut off is supposed to be 9am so it seems pretty clear that they made a concession to let everyone who wanted to enter, get processed in order to get every dollar possible in the pot

Every other time I have gone, its been a little bit disorganised, but atleast I got 2 or 3 practice runs, before going into qualifying and having another 3 or 4 runs before being eliminated.

Im not pissed off about it though as it was all about them raising money, but had it been a normal meet, I would have been penning a letter lol

I was there, unfortunately not in my car as I couldnt fix the gearbox in time.

I was still kept pretty busy helping out with my partners fathers car, the Orange Dodge Daytona. Brand new untested unrun car. And after we quickly found out that the cooling system wasnt up to the task of driving to the pits, racing and then driving back I got designated as tow car. So at least I kinda got to hoon down the track in my surf.

Was pretty succesful first run out for him in the car, hes pretty stoked as the car went 9.5@144 on what he calls his "practice" engine.

Thought I recognized it drive past while I was in the stands  , you dads car looked really nice and yea good time for a shake down.
I went on sunday with a mate who went to see his workmates father in the accord , and I wanted to see my powder coater guy in his rail (goodyear one), 6.8 sec sure does look fast .
And the last run the digger rail did was a " how the hell did he not roll it " run , apparently it's up on youtube

I was there in my soarer and now I'm slowly figuring out who's who

Went bloody well in the end. Ended up in the top 8 in C8 class out of I think 74 competitors. They had to abandon racing so we never ended up with a winner etc.

Soarers best time was a 15.076 so pretty stoaked with that! I think putting all new ignition components gained around .2-.3 of a second!! That's with rather large burnouts too :D

I can't wait for the new dragstrip.
