Water temp sensor repositioning query

So i currently run my standard water temp sensor aswell as an after market one. The aftermarket one looks ghey and sticks out like dogs balls. I was wondering if there was somewhere in the thermostat housing that i could fabricate in the second sensor?

I know some of you will say just go with one but i hate it when my gauges on my dash board arent all working plus the aftermarket one gives me a better indication of what is going on

The way the aftermarket sensors are supposed to be mounted (on the radiator hose) is plain wrong*.
You need to mounted before the thermostat next to EFI water temp. sensor (Green 2 wire plug on the head side of the thermostat housing).

To do that you need to determine the thread on the aftermarket sensor (most likely ghey imperial thread) find a flat surface on that housing near the EFI WTS (or make a flat surface so the copper washer can provide a good seal) drill and tap thread.

*what will it show if the thermostat is jammed closed?

Sergi is correct.


Usually a water temp sensor need to go between the engine and the thermostat,
and a radiator fan switch goes on the other side of the thermostat.

By the way your second picture is of the radiator fan switch
not the temp sender for the gauge.

Got ya. I will remove the housing after i see how much room i have. The coils are mounted just above and to the right of the thermostat housing
