Was it a soarer engine? What other things have you had to change?

its a jza70 motor so bolted strait in on the mounts which came with it, wiring is different but ill sort that when i get that far, going to have to modify power steer lines, already plumbed up the heater hoses that was easy. pretty much havent got very far yet only started it yesterday, pulled the 7m and sat the jz in the hole.

a soarer motor should go strait in as well as theyre both rear sump and use the same mounts.

So I have no ecu and my engine is from a soarer, how much more difficult will this make everything? Would after market be the best option?

Wiring JZZ30 ecu/loom into A70 is pretty easy still, I did Logan's. Just a matter of wiring diagrams and/or some basic knowledge.

I have a JZZ30 ECU if you want it.

But running a factory ecu with a single turbo 1jz can't be very ideal can it?

Why not? All the ECU is is a computer program that reacts to sensor inputs and adjusts signal outputs based upon parameters programmed into it.

A stock ECU is capable of a fair bit providing you have sufficient fuel capacity and sensors. Unless you're going for nutso boost, I would imagine a stock ECU would run a single turbo 1JZ-GTE with upgraded injectors and a rising rate FPR quite happily. Toyota ECU's run filthy rich anyway so theres plenty of headroom in there.

But if you have the urge to spend another 2-3k on top of the conversion, you should get a better result from an aftermarket ECU providing the tuner is competent.

all done, piece of piss let me know if u get stuck, only real issue is the power steering lines but we just bent the ma70 ones to work and extended the return line with a hardline from a wreck at work.

It's an 89 but had the wrong subframe, who knows why, the guy I got it off was a muppet so yeah. Could you not use the factory intercooler?
