must be getting old because I like it ! , basically these are a small Lexus with leather trim , radar cruise control , sat nav ,and for some reason permanent traction control ?
The ride quality is unlike a Corolla , they do not feel front heavy and road noise is very low even with a 40 profile tyre and aftermarket suspension .

Thanks dude, yeah I'm getting old my self at 25  So keen for a bit of a sleeper hot hatch.

had my opinion completely changed on the 350z yesterday on my way to work, black track edition with massive brembos, slammed on 19" work emotion XD9s, was bloody boss.

the door handles need to be deleted tho, they still are and always will be completely terrible.

To take the thread hijack in another direction...

Why are JZA80's so stupidly expensive? They're coming up 20 years old now, and people still want 20-30k for them...

Is it just because there has been a distinct lack of performance vehicles out of Japan the last 10 years (RX8/350Z excluded)? Or is it symptomatic of all Toyota's being stupid prices? (and going up lately??)

I mean really... with 10 years advances in handling, braking, interior design etc... as much as I love the JZA80, how could you not take this over one?

It almost seems Toyota have farmed off responsibility for sports vehicles/driving enjoyment to Lexus the last few years... although the IS250 was far from spritely/exciting... perhaps the IS350 is better? But at Lexus pricing its far from affordable motoring.

I'm sure the GT86 will be a superb vehicle, but the price of it is going to place it out of the reach of comparable (albeit FF) competition (Swift Sport etc)... And as much as I desire for Toyota to back up the GT86 release with some more Grand Tourer lovin, if a new Soarer/Supra came out, it would probably be in excess of $100,000 :( I wonder how that compares to inflation adjusted numbers for previous generations' new vehicle pricing.

/end rant (considered starting a "Why are Toyotas so expensive" thread)...

/continued... I guess because they are similar to the R34 GTR in terms of league and their competition. Debatable by most that they are just as much of a legend too

^ Debatable by some that they are more of a legend than the GT-R... But only to people who know cars ;)

as much as I love the JZA80, how could you not take this over one?

Many reasons, looks, presence, brand loyalty, ability to make ridiculous power on a stock block/stock gearbox, rarity. And a heap of other reasons ;)

What seems great to one person isn't always the answer for others. The 350 may perform better stock for stock, but there are a multitude of reason's people would pick a different car.
Cheers,
Brandon

the prices seem about right for a proper facelift RZ supra, but nearly $20k for an SZ-R and almost $30k for an older RZ is just ridiculous i mean R32 and R33 GTRs can be had for the just over 20k mark

R32 GTRs can be had for 8-9k registered off the container from Japan lol. R33 GTRs are also around the low 20k mark these days 8) The JZA80 is a different class of car all together though, it's in the NSX/R34 GTR realm of Jap car... too bad for the abundance NA models dragging down our prices though because most people just want the look and throw some mesh in the front grill

If I had the garage space I'd buy a near stock factory manual RZ. They'll be the collectors car, and IMO the only model worth paying over 20k for today.

Back on topic: Have you driven the 350z yet?

Haha, yeah, definitely need the SIV license but they aren't that hard to get apparently... many dealers are bringing them in now for around that price or cheaper and putting them up around 13-14k with the license (so anyone can get it) - the main issue is without having someone over there who can thoroughly inspect the vehicle, 90% of them these days have some sort of rust issue, so that's a big factor to make sure isn't overlooked. Definitely do-able though, take a look into it ;)

Basically once the car's in the country, to get it registered you'll only be paying 1-1.2k for documents (including the customs and SIV), but if there's rust it could cost quite a bit more to have it sorted out. Unless you just want it as a track car :)

P.S. You can't SIV an Evo
