Reminds me heaps of a Celica. But I still do want... Is a big pipe dream though. Would have to be 10 years down the track when they're cheaper.

cant wait till they come in, next month i believe. I think we are getting a few into the dealership, will be a few road tests ;).

I spoke with the head of toyota NZ the other day. he said he is keen to do something with the 86. Wants to project to the younger generation and believes the 86 is the perfect platform to go with. I told him we should take it drifting... that is of course part of the ae86 heritage isnt it.. ;)

sorry havent been following the thread.. Has anyone brought up the D1GP 86 with the 2ur ISF engine?.. i like that idea.. =)

That's great news, would be good to see them get behind it and get it out there..

How about getting it in the Targa at some capacity, be it a sweep car or an official car, its great brand exposure to people who buy new cars? The AE86 was a rally car before anything else, was also a very successful touring car.. only Toyota are already building a super tourer so that's the budget gone.

If your interested in talking with Targa NZ send me a PM and I will point you in the right direction, HSV and Renault have had new models on Targa to great success.

Thats a bloody good idea actually. Although I doubt Alistair will be visiting our dealership anytime soon, otherwise I'd connect the dots between him and Peter.

Might have to make some enquiries and see if I can make it happen. Would be super nice to be the one driving it as a 00x promo car for the week too ;)

Would rather not see Ray driving it. Prefer not to see an 86 backed into a tree. Ford Ka is perfectly fine, that where they belong... the 86... not so much.

Now your talking, proper power, brakes, wheels and tyres. They can keep the body kit though.

I'll take one that looks like this please. Going off prices though it would cost $80k!
