i dont see a problem switching the cvs side to side. he just swapped the whole shaft yes? then again i dont see any particular need for it either.

re being stressed to rotate in a certain direction - im fairly sure you'll find they dont sell left and right handed cvs, which would be the case if that were true.

good to hear you got it sorted.

Correct they dont sell a left and a right,
but as they get used they stress in certain directions.

Same with rear axels in a live axel RWD,
it is usually accepted that if you swap them side to side they will snap easier under load.
