alright one of my last hurdles in the single rebuild is that i now dont have a/c but i have an ATI super damper, so i need a new serpentine belt that will fit,,

they make belts for ati damper with ac, and they make belts for no a/c but nothing for the no a/c ati damper combo,, (ati damper has a different diameter than stock crank pulley).

can i measure it out with a bit of string and get one made?? lol if so where do i get one from, aux area be ideal,

I doubt you'd need to get one custom made?

I'm not sure what measurements they would require, but surely Repco or similar* could find you a belt with a certain length etc from some other car that would fit.

*assuming you are not dealing with a retard at the counter

well thats the problem i have all the time with the repco etc *experts* all they want to know is chassis numbers when it comes to giving you the right part you might as well go to the warehouse, lol

Get a piece of string, route it how you would without the AC and measure the length.

They're a 6PK1940 (or there abouts) factory so wont be too different. You'll be going longer because of the ATI, shorted because of the AC delete.

If you are manual 2JZ (supra), do you have the dampener still on there? That will interfere if so with AC gone. (maybe not with ATI pulley)

just tell them what length you want. as far as repco goes, the guys at the trade counter tend to be a bit more onto it.

Measure with a piece of string or if you have a belt that is longer cut it and mark the length it needs to be

Saeco etc also sell belts
You wont get one made, They come in set lengths, normally in 5-10mm increments

Also, get a someone who's in the trade to try and get one through toyota. Shouldn't be any more than around $40 for a genuine 6pk belt.

Go to BNT, when i worked there they had a massive selection hanging right by the counter with a measuring tool to measure your sample. easy

Go to NST. Its something like $37 for any length belt which is cheap for us dudes who need a super long one

thanks guys sounds great will try BnT or the other place mentioned, no i have taken the shock damper thing out as i seen the belt will now run into it and i have read that they arent needed as some 2jz dont have them factory,

you need the dampener if you've got 6 speed box hanging on the back.

any reason? what about the people that do the 6spd conversions and their motor didnt have the damper? im not using standard flywheel or clutch does that matter? cheers pat

Am pretty sure the clutch disk is not sprung at all so 'chatters' a fair bit.

I have a 6 Speed and no A/C so dont have the dampener with no issues.

A few people that do the conversion do the dampener anyway to make the swap complete - i think more of a cosmetic thing more than anything.
