Itll be interesting to see what they charge to fabricate the piping alone. Its a pretty straight forward job. Paying retail labour rate adds up pretty quick though i suppose..

good luck with the dyno results..

It also includes his time going to the Dyno the STM dyno charge and the intake I had to buy also as you no mate I like certain product and hence you pay a premium also.

It all adds up.

Im interested to see how much time they charge to fab intake for referance purpose. Last power/fuel/knock check I had done was around $160.

Im just trying to justify the rest. Was that incl air filters?

Mate at a guess I think he'll be in the $50-70 per hour range for his time..

Labour I think will be in the ballpark of about $3-400.

Dyno I don't no but at a min. I think $2-300.

Blitz Intake $250.

So if I take worst case scenario it's $950.

I'm sure this upgrade can be done for quite a bit cheaper but again it depends who you use which intakes you want and of course whose Dyno you use STM's or Shreds.

Thats interesting info, Blake.

Do you have any idea if the session is simply a power run with afr and boost printout, or is it adjustment too?

I would say that it would just be power runs with AFR

They're doing their dyno inspection service for $99. Just a few power runs with AFR and Boost and analysis of your results.

Thanks for the confirmation, guys. I figured as much.

It would make sense (if they were going to do 2 runs as part of that price) to take along the laptop to datalog the first run so you could make any adjustments you might need before the second run, that way it would be far better value for those who have already run their cars in the past and are just looking to make some minor adjustments.

Just been out see how this upgrade is going it isn't as easy as it looks getting everything into such a confined space.I have to say the Blitz filters are a nightmare to fit and alot of re-jigging has to be done to refit FMIC piping and move the boost control lines around and what not but I think everything will eventually fit.

He did go on to say that the smaller the air filters the easier and faster he could do the install though.Yes I no stating the obvious but the intakes are my own personal decision and hence the added time on the install.

I think the finished product will look really good just hopefully have to get a result on the dyno.

Also for whoever else is interested I will be getting a quoted labour, materials and dyno pricing from the guys at Macbilt just so people can get a reference to if they want an idea of what it will cost.

Dual Intake verdict drum roll please........

ARGH FAIL sorry guys we got nothing out of this the car actually under-performed with the intakes lost 2 kw at the top with no added spool benefits or mid range torque benefits either so I got to say when I got the call at lunchtime just to say I was disappointed.

I will still becoming on the weekend though and you can checkout the handy work but to be honest I am going to change everything back to how it was when I started in the very near future.

But I guess nothing ventured nothing gained.

It was 312 before the intakes and 309-310 with the intakes as above with no spool benefits or gains in mid range torque...F**K Gutted ooppss hahaha..

Gutted man - sorry to hear. Good on you for taking the risk and trying something different, it could have just as easily worked out and opened up a new way of thinking about upgrade paths! As you say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I know that in your position I would have been a fair bit more selfish and followed the proven path, and just put the money towards a nice tasty single turbo - like I thought you were considering years ago!

To be honest the only reason I never considered a single setup with this car was because it was an Auto but I guess it is what it is and it just didn't workout.

I just replied to your post on gtr elite but Ill post it up here...

Thats really disappointing to hear mate :(

Did they do a back to back test on the dyno with both sets of pipes, or was the comparison made to your old dyno figure from the last time you had it done?

I think without same day back to back testing, the numbers arent going to be fully reliable.

The most important part (and I realise you havent been to the track yet) but how does it drive now? Feel any different?

Im interested to see how the pipes were made to compare them to the others I have seen as I guess there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Good on you for being willing to pony up and take the leap of faith to do the mod, without people like you, it would all be speculation.

EDIT: I just thought....did you do the compressor outlet hotside pipework done too? Its without doubt that this is where some of the gains lie.
