Note the badge on the guard and the orientation of the pistons compared to the stock badge. Nice touch.

Drifting. Pff

Toyota should man up and build one for Targa and throw a goon NZ guest driver in it, would have potential to take out the under 2000cc 2WD class if driven properly... could possibly be as fast as a Civic or Integra Type-R.

yeh definately.. that is the 'age category' that they should be aiming for. no flat peeker is going to wanna buy it nor will be able to afford it..

Guess who's going on the 'New Car Features' for the FT86 =D. please dear god let there be some test driving.

I see they have also released a TRD version. looks like its gunna be right up in the 60k price range though.. very cool looking though.

These are the official prices from Toyota New Zealand:

"The 86 enters the market at $41,986 for the six speed manual transmission, and $42,986 for the automatic version. The manual GT86 has a Recommended Retail Price of $46,986, with the automatic at $47,986. A sports aero kit is available for GT86, priced at just $1,600.

Planning for the Special Edition TRD86 is underway, with the recommended price announced at $63,486 for the manual version and $64,486 for the automatic."

...should ask if it'd be any cheaper if they did the car a favor and didn't put the only wheel package option they've got on the car  Man they messed those wheels up something chronic, didn't they! Ah well, easy enough to change I guess
