Seats,brackets and seat rails?

Postby TOYO-GT-T » Thu Jun 28, 2012 9:29 pm

I have a Toyota Vitz RS and are looking for some feedback on good aftermarket or factory spec replacement seats.

After installing the Tein springs and rear sway bar (going in tomorrow) the car feels like its on rails and will feel more so by tomorrow.

Only problem.....

Now I am starting to get "human body roll" and it will probably be even worse at track days. The factory sports seats do have a slight hugging fit,but not enough to keep you one place.

There are loads of seats around on trademe, whats a good replacement and how do you fit them as I am sure all rails, seat bolt holes ,floor holes, bracket width and length are different for each car, and I certainly don't want WOF issues. :D

I found recaro SR3 to be an awesome option. Miles better than an ordinary stock seat in terms of laterial support but still comfy and easy to get in/out of on a day to basis. Get some bride or recaro rails off yahoo auctions/upgarage etc and you're sorted. Rails will probably be dearer than the actual seat

Thanks for that, are they the Japanese auction sites? I assume they just marry up with the SR3's and bolt on in? sounds great :D

yes they are Japanese auction sites. I would recommend Ewan from Hayatonka for sorting out the buying process and postage.

Yes you will be able to get a bolt up rail.

I think 1i1 meant to just get the rail from japan. Seats are much cheaper here.

bride rail that will fit an sr3

recaro rail that will fit an sr3 (wont need certification) but is a LH. gives you an idea of what to look for

Would this be what I am after, I could then order the passanger side ex Japan.

I assume a recaro or bride seat will bolt straight up and rails will bolt straight in line with factory bolt points.

No, a recaro will not bolt to that rail.

That rail will fit BRIDE: EURO2 series, DIGO series, Old BRIX, ERGO old, XAX old and REVS old.

If you compare it to the ones above I posted. You will notice that the one on trademe has members running across ways for the seat to mount to.

Where as the ones I posted doesn't. The ones what don't have the members, the seat bolts directly to the rail. And the rails are further apart to suit a recaro.
