Hello comrades.
I managed to buy a complete 1992 MR2 power steering pump and power steering ecu from a member here. however I have no idea which wires go where and do not have access to a MR2 hayne manual.
I have the the Steering computer, what looks like a steering sensor and a tank for the power steering fluid.
I have the following wires:
1x White
1x Black
1x Purple with white stripe
1x Yellow with red stripe
1x Yellow with white stripe
1x Red with black
1x Blue with yellow stripe
then there is another set of wires:
1x Black
1x Red
1x Green
1x White
If anyone can help it would make today's work on the lada a lot easier.
Also what power steering fluid is recommended for the MR2 pump.
Part two:
I have just received my Kit. I am still keeping the old wire-operated handbrake for back-up and hill stop, and just adding this hydraulic handbrake next to the original one.
The lada handbrake is very weak and prone to failure.
The hand brake lever is slightly raised about40 degrees but can also be mounted vertical i guess in the vertical it gives a shorter response time.
The handbrake lever has the lock mechanism but I have always been told not to trust hydraulic handbrakes for hill stops. there is a disable feature for this.
The kit is not 100% complete. I have the following:
handbrake lever and mounting for the 5/8th Brake Booster either in the 180 degree or vertical position.
I am going to run the braided brake lines today as have plenty left over from when I did the dry sump plumbing.
The question has 3 parts.
1) Should i run a separate brake reservoir for the handbrake or plumb into the existing one.
2) would there be any issues when I got for a WOF and do i need to certify it
3) Has anyone done this sort of setup before? Any advise would be good.
Thanks
Yuri
