No they didn't have permission to use the Sc aero. Remember how they advertised that they ran the SC aero but suddenly they removed those comments and changed the car.and went very quiet about it? Seems me petch was scared of yet another law suit agaisnt him
Do you have any prior knowledge of petch? It sounds like you don't.

I know of his dodgy dealings in magazine land, and I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.
But that doesn't make TC pure in this either.

TC also has a history, especially of bleeding councils dry who get into bed with him. And of always getting his own way.

Thats interesting about the SC aero, how'd they get their hands on it, if they weren't allowed to use it? Can V8SC control what cars their aero goes on? For example if one of the ex V8SC cars is sold, and the owner parts it out after putting it into a wall, or blowing an engine or something, can V8SC say who can use those parts, and where they are allowed to be used.
I might be wrong but surely its no different to any other part you buy, the manufacturer can't tel you what to do with it after you purchase it (unless its military or dual use tech).

Correct they cant stop you using it once you have purchased it,
however they can stop you copying it 100 times and selling them for profit.

i believe V8SC own the aero package design. it's all part of the parity equation.

unsure whether this gives V8SC teams the ability to make their own (as stakeholders in the series) or whether there is a universal supplier.

Matt Dunn might know, but his father would have been back in NZ before the current parity blueprint was done.

Oh definately, which is why I thought they were just using it for baseline testing. Given that the performance of the aero was known, just not the performance of the car, and how to make them equal.

Believe that and I have a bridge I can sell you.

I'd read that and still have the same view, which TC confirms, that the conversation took place. And he "suggested" what he thought on the matter to the teams.

No different to when the Reserve bank used to use OMO (Open Market Operations also called open mouth operations) where the reserve bank governor used to suggest what the banks should do with their interest rates, and if it didn't happen they made it happen.

Well, where was it ever confirmed that SVG and Coulthard were confirmed to drive in the ST series?

I never saw it confirmed, but it was a high probability till this. Certain drivers/teams seemed to think they were close to a deal untill this happened.
