Hosaka Tuning Factory - anyone know it?

I have a JZX100 Chaser Tourer V, its auto with the factory single turbo 1JZGTE vvti.

There is a sticker on the windscreen for 'Hosaka Tuning Factory', the car seems to have harder suspension but not coilovers, has Apexi panel filter, exhaust is probably standard at ~2.5" (ish), can't tell if more than standard boost due to no factory gauge.

Just wondering what Hosaka Tuning Factory are known for? Its either going to be just a sticker and they are just the local Hosaka-Repco or maybe it'll explain the suspension.

The previous owner was first in NZ and didn't modify anything.

Only had the car a few days so just looking into it.

Anyone know?

they are actually a pretty serious tuner over in Japan. I remember seeing one of their cars in best motoring international, was a crazy worked R34 GTR

Hmmm yeah, appears to be a GTR shop really.

Leaning towards it just being a sticker. Who knows maybe it'll have a piggy back ecu hidden in there That happened to my dad's old GT starlet went like a cut cat, one day it had a heater core leak. Took out dash and found a Blitz ecu ...or HKS or something, was a few years ago.

Most coilovers made in Taiwan by the sound of things anyway. I got HKS hipermax it doesnt say anywhere where its made. Normally if it was made in Japan, it would say "Made in Japan" clearly.

Your car might just have a basic "boost-up upgrade" such as exhaust, intercooler and higher boost via new ECU or Electronic Boost controller. Pull your passenger footrest out and have a look at ECU for any stickers.

Hmm yeah that's what I thought too, iv got them in my supra and I like them, they actually ride quite nice and iv had no problems, just get them set up right instead of just making it 'drift spec yo'. Anyways soz for the threadjack

the oem factory tourer V/S shocks are a good peace of kit, what color are the springs?

Doesn't appear visibly different to what I would expect for standard, I'll see if the springs are a different colour maybe.

Only thing I am going on is that it does not look like a factory Toyota sort of height and it corners much nicer than I was expecting for a big car.

I might have to look into what the facotry sway bar sizes should be too?

Cheers guys, really liking the car so far. Must resist modifying it too much so I can fix the Trueno's ECU.

When? D2s are beyond rubbish, well proven and documented why. After all the nz importer washed their hands of them, what does that tell you?
At autolign we had people coming in every week with failed ones asking jf we can repair them
