There has been no official thread announcing it, there is only the EOI post.

I think anybody wanting to come along knows it is labour weekend, at this stage I believe Scott has organised a Dyno, Cruise, Scavenger Hunt, Paintball/laser tag (depending on interest) and Karting.

The biggest thing that has to be arranged at this stage is accommodation, hence the post asking who will be coming. Scott, just go to the place you were talking to me about and get some prices and let us know.

Anybody else interested in coming along please let Scott know so he can start putting numbers together.

Cheers,
Sam

I'd have thought it'd make sense to have at least a preliminary announcement somewhere where the wider forum might be more likely to find the posts and have easily accessible relevant info provided, unless the intention is only people who frequent the Welly meet area and people who otherwise regularly communicate actually know the event is actually happening.

The EOI thread is quite loose and I for one haven't been religiously watching it as things like that can go all over the show and end up with different dates and god knows what (I think there was more than one potential date mentioned in that one), and you normally expect an announcement when a decision is made to hold such an event so people know they should actually be planning the trip. That's just me though, I'm just trying to not take for granted that I'll be told all the details and I'll have 30minutes drive max if I decide to check it out :)

Im sure Scott has got a rough idea as to how the weekend will run, so he can put up an itinerary when he can.

The basics I can provide are

Date: October 20 - 22

Location: Wellington

Activities:
Go-Karting
Scavenger Hunt
Paintball/laser tag
Dyno
+ more to be decided when/if we need to fill in time

Any question or to register interest either post here or contact Scott directly.

It appears that Hutt Valley Motorsport Club are planning to run a sealed autocross and a sealed motorkhana on Labour Monday.

So, people who wish to partake in relatively low key motorsport could play there also if they wished.

On Sunday they are also running a Sealed Sprint (which requires MSNZ licence) for people who want higher speed more serious motorsporting.

Both Sunday and Monday venues are moderately intimidating with big kerbs that can be hit at high enough speed to total your suspension. So probably not suitable to people who have a lot of aggression in their driving and not a lot of competition experience (cos you'll f**k your car).

I'll put up a general info post when I get some time, but at the moment it only exists as "an event in the Wellington motorsport calendar" ... it will happen, but the regulations for the event don't exist yet.

Im yet to receive any interest toward accomidation or the dyno. Kind of want to start filling spots soon or may have to pull the plug on this.

Ill confirm that for you, but will need another 6 people to put their hands up for the dyno to go ahead. Surely that wont be too hard?¿?
