Drilling Alloy Wheels (counterboring)... ***SUSSED***

Postby jondee86 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 3:24 pm

Can anyone tell me the name of a business that has the proper gear
for drilling wheels ? I have a set of alloys that are too thick in the hub
where the taper nuts seat. I can't use them with standard AE86 studs
and don't really want longer studs.

What it needs is the cone seats removing and the holes bored
deeper, then the cone seats refitted. Nothing special, just the usual
kind of hole for mags with cone face nuts.

Wellington would be good, but I could manage Palmy or Hawkes Bay
if that's where I need to go.

Cheers... jondee86

For the benefit of anyone else who needs this kind of work doing,
Rimrite Alloys in Palmy can re-drill your wheels for $40 a corner. They
also do all other kinds of mag wheel repairs, polishing, painting etc.
