It has been a long 4 weeks, because it has been 5 ;)

Typical Spa weather for FP1 and more than likley the same for FP2, a shame to not see much action after such a long break, but atleast saturday and sunday are supposed to be dry.

Good luck to Schu on his 300th GP, heres hoping he has a good weekend and is standing on the top of the podium on sunday arvo.

Then of course, we have Monza next weekend, the two best races, back to back, bring it on :)

^^^^^^^^

Yeah its hard not to like Spa and Monza though I do prefer Spa it just has dramatic undulation and some unreal fast corners.I mean I'm yet to see any corner that switches back 2 directions but the drivers don't take there foot off the gas and at 270 KPH I'm mean for me thats just mind blowing.. 8O 8O

Long shot, but has anyone been to Monaco and sat at or seen the Secteuer Rocher? Going next year and deciding on a seating location (or lack of!)

Very lucky nobody was hurt in that crash, very silly of Romain...

Great victory for Jenson, never challenged, he certainly found the windown with the tyres, at last. Vettel was really strong, and Kimi not quite as strong as everyone was expecting.

There was a lot of great racing today, alot of it involving the Schu, was great to see him fighting as hard now as he did on this weekend, 21 years ago :)

And Monza in 5 days :)

It was a great move, and mirrored Marks move on Alonso last year, except theirs was far faster... I actually tensed up watching it last year, as if it went wrong, it was going to be ugly, whereas this year it was obvious from La source that Kimi was going to get him as Schu was at the end of his tyres and had no traction out of the hairpin. Add a healthy dose of KERS to the equation and it was even easier for the Lotus

Brave stuff indeed though, and Kimi has never been short of that.

Grosjean has been fined 50,000 Euro and banned for Monza, rightfully so too, as ambition is fine, but when its so reckless, then people can get seriously hurt.

Oh yeah, and Pastor has two 5 place grid penalties for separate incidents during the race...

Yes Romain's move to me smells of preessure within the team for him to perform as I believe Kimi has shown the way in that team this year and is now the clear #1.

But to be honest I think if I'm Alonso and Hamilton I'd be spewing I mean its clear no one was going to beat Button but to take the points hit they both did for something as callous is disappointing especially as it was a no way foward dive bomb into the 1st corner.

Agreed, but to be fair, Alonso was due some bad luck eventually, as he has had nothing but the best luck since the beginning of the season. Lewis on the other hand has already had his fair share...

With button winning, Alonso still has a healthy lead, but vettel and webber are very close, and I would expect Kimi to be a title contender too within 3 or 4 races.

I wonder if Mercedes new "triple DRS" will help drag them up into the front this weekend, as if the race is going to be as good as last years, I cant wait!!!

I think he is just far too focused on whats in front of him, rather than around him. Spatial awareness hasnt fully developed yet it seems.

On a side note, I forgot to mention Mitch Evans and his 3rd place in the feature race. the sprint race wasnt so good, eventually falling out of the points with some kind of issue (unless it was simply carrying too much wing)

With only the 2 races at Monza to go in the GP3 championship, he is 22.5pts in the lead, so will need a solid finish to guarantee a spot in GP2 next year, and Ive got everything crossed for him to do it. :)

Yeah he looks a promising young guy doesnt he! Mentored by Mark Webber if I remember correctly.

Agree with what someone said a few comments back, I believe that Kimi will be in the hunt soon if form continues and/or excels. I love his driving style and it certainly suits the Lotus on race day. They still lack qualifying but it seems odd that they cant improve.

Grosjean has tunnel vision, Maldonado has no vision.

Monza should be a good race with a few guys out of order. I couldn't help but laugh when it looked like Massa teared away from Alonso when he was supposed to be giving Alonso a draft. I initially thought it was a 'stuff you' move to the team for having to play 2nd driver on so many occasions, but it turns out Alonso had a problem.

Also, what a heart breaking start to the GP3 race for Mitch Evans. The tables turned again by the end of the race. So Evans still very much has a chance for the championship.

Its still a very risky situation though, as with Mitch starting in 26, making it into the points is going to be a very big ask.

Im crossing my fingers, toes, and everything else, and about to watch race 2 in 5 minutes

Good luck Mitch, do us proud.

Good luck Schu, lets have a podium to remember in front of your tifosi ;)

Daniel Apt got into 2nd place from 8th. And Mitch got into the points from last on the grid in 8/15 laps. He was driving like a man possessed. At that stage the championship was Mitch's.
He then got a puncture (looked like his LR tyre got touched from someones front wing). Apt then took the lead and it looked like it was all over for Mitch. The lead was swapped lap by lap almost and Apt ended 2nd so Mitch took the Championship. Was awesome :D
