Its time for me to change my fuel filter in the engine bay of my ae82 and have found that Toyota has added this to its long list of discontinued parts.
I have flagged the idea of using Ryco after reading bad reports about them or am I wrong and has their quality improved? Are there any other brands I should consider?
The AE92 is another possibility, but I would need to make it fit as the angle at which the fuel hose from the rail meets is different, along with a different mounting bracket. Has anyone had any success with this?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Ok maybe that was the wrong way to put it. Like anything I try to do research on the internet before making a decision and found that some people are saying the filtering microns on these are not of OEM specs. I'm well aware Ryco would be selling many of these and there will always be some negative feedback. However I have always gone OEM and will continue to do so unless i'm 100% sure the replacement will be of equal quality.

Just use a later Toyota one if you are that worried about it

They likely all come out of the same factory these days anyway. I wouldn't hesitate on putting a Ryco filter on anything. Most people never change fuel filters until there is a problem anyway which is where half the issue comes from.

The genuine ones are made in japan.
Have you tried AE92 genuine fuel filter? On toyodiy.com filter looks similar/same to AE92 and AE101 one.. googling around and they appear the same.
