But I don't think its canceled and can't see a merger anytime soon as supertourers won't allow different engine's or faster cars

The merger was to run the NZV8's in the second tier V8 Challenge cup, with changes to allow the new spec NZV8's to run.
Meetings were had, potential agreements apparently reached (according to speedcafe at least anyway), and then it hit the media and seemed to fall over and die.

Not sure about the toyota rumour though. Would be odd given the engine is in the country.
Unless its going to be a trade me special!

Yeah I heard that, don't think it was ever going to get past the first meeting stage as ST won't let them run full spec.

No rumour as far as Toyota and SCs go, just I'd like to see! And I thought that the engine could be used for Aussie as well. Who knows!

Yeh and i couldnt really see toyota wanting to run a gm powerplant. I also saw speedtech have been brought in to do all the ecus and to bring all the hp outputs to same levels, or within 2% which should be good

Pretty much the same as myself also they also went onto say that both sides of this issue need to pull there heads in ie Supertourers and the NZV8 organisers and run a parralell series together as he believes the country isn't big enough and financial enough to have both.

there is another big performance company called speedtech, hence why I asked.

Have to say, massive ups to STM, if this doesnt show off their obviously massive tuning talents I dont think anything will lol. Very impressive.
