rotary engine solely used to recharge the batteries rather than drive the wheels

this idea has been on the table for a while, afaik.

they've had them on hydrogen since the late 90's, great engine for it as it can be set up without the possibility of an inlet backfire.

Sounds like it could be a great charge-type engine for hybrids then. I was more thinking the 'stigma' that can be attached to those who love the engine may be a little... dissapointed :lol:

sounds cool to me.

the CEO of mazda sounds like a champ as well. been with them since 1967?!

would be awesome to see another rotary RX7.

It's not a real rotary unless it chews gas and smells of 2 stroke!
