im a little fuzzy on it, but i helped a mate buy one about 18 months back. stream gets a couple of options, the 1800 which is a B18 afaik, and the newer 2.0 which is a K20A i think.

i seem to recall the 2.0 being chain driven as well, if your mate is one of those people who thinks paying for a cambelt is the end of the world.

it would be my first pick if i was buying a family mover, my mate has loved it with two smaller kids and their hordes of friends etc.

small enough to be car like with parking etc, but with capacity for africa when its needed.

oh and they are actually semi nimble / nippy if you are in that mood.

10k will get him a nice stream, make sure he looks for the 2l one, the alternative is a d17a which is just gutless.

2l is K20a which yes is a cam chain.

Not much room with the 6/7 seat up but plenty with it down

What about a Mazda MPV, look pretty good and you can get them with 3L of Mazda power!

They look pretty good too, well for a people mover.

If you have a look around you could get one a facelift aero kit one for 10K.

the newer shape Nissan Pressage. They have the same running gear as the Maxima basically - VQ35 motor so you can still have a chance of an enjoyable drive. they don't look too bad either
