Aston Martin V12 Cygnet (Toyota IQ)

Apparently Aston Martin say their cygnet (rebadged Toyota IQ) is capable of taking a detuned V12, without much trouble!

Talk about potentially the hands down ultimate sleeper car.

Wonder how much one will cost.
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

find it funny how the juke R is like 150kg heavier than the GTR. seems impossible

Nah the Juke is pretty tiny, just alot taller. Without checking perhaps they didn't go as far with the utilisation of lighter weight materials in the chassis and body.

I just don't understand how such a small car can fit a V12 without much modification to the engine bay.

Or is the Aston V12 rather small in size?

V12's aren't any longer than an inline 6 or any wider than a transverse inline 4. With a transaxle at the rear of the vehicle and a torque tube connecting it to the engine, I can't imagine that you'd have to do a huge amount to get it to fit.

Deathtrap though.

last time i looked at an echo it had about enough room for a longitudinal 2 cylinder, hah.

easy is relative though. they do have a car design / engineering company at their fingertips.

Didn't say it was easy :lol: Just that it's possible.
VW have installed a 650hp W12 in the back of a Golf hatchback. With 2 turbos for good measure.
Kinda glad they didn't sell that one to anyone.

Wait.... What???

I thought the whole point of the Juke was an insane motor in a tiny car. V8 in a mini kinda theme. Lame.

Hardly surprising. The Juke is a Mini SUV - It only weighs like 200kg less than the GTR to start with and I'm sure adding the GTR's engine and drivetrain more than closes that gap.

Given the respective reliability of those two brand should be CHEAP AS on gas. Will need a different vehicle to drive anywhere though so that might mess up your economy overall.
