I see Holden is releasing the Malibu as a model to fit between the cruze and the commodore in size. Looked about as big as a camry in size.
Perhaps that'll be the next cop car. Saw a sweet pic of the turbo version Chev took to SEMA.

Cops only ever fit 2 prisoners max in the back of a cop car, and if they're big Samoans, they'll probably put them in individual cop cars, to save the risk of them all overpowering the cops and causing an accident. Or just chuck them in the paddy wagon.

And Ford have just released a cop spec Focus ST wagon in the UK with 252hp. Could fit more prisoners in a wagon, just tie one or two into the boot.

do you have the turbo mondeo? because the ecoboost model makes 147kw and 300nm.

LX TDCi. more torque than the ecoboost (340nm) and comparable power. I drove both and the diesel felt a lot more pleasant for daily use

147kw isnt a heck of a lot, considering the SV6 has 210kw.

I fully agree with what a few people have already said. What the cops have now is the best option, period. What do you think the real-world fuel consupmtion of a Mazda 6 or a Hyuindai I45 would be, when used as a frontline car (that gets thrashed to within an inch of its life at least twice a day, carries up to 5 large passengers at a time etc etc. )

There is nothing wrong with the current cars they use, they have just pointed out that fuel consumption is not favourable.

Swap out 50,000 Commodores for something less suited to the job and save a bit on gas (possibly) < perhaps with this issue the Police have it could be another step towards less tax on petrol or something like that. If the Police force are affected, im sure the governement have some inkling to help

All I am saying is that if something funded by the governement is affected (and they want to cut funding???) why would they not focus some effort on eliminating the source of the problem, which is gas prices. In the process they would help the general public as well as themselves.
