Also jack up in the center so that both tyres are off the ground. A swaybar can hold pressure on the suspension so that you cant feel any play.

If its wheel bearing would you feel the play with a wheel on the ground?
I've been failed on play and told bearings but can only bearly feel it, but only when the whole back ends up?

Your meaning only jacking up one side aye? if yes, then yeh you will feel wheel bearing play because its play between the hub and wheel. Have you tied having the brake pedal applied hard while trying to feel for play?

Ummm... did I miss the post that mentioned the VTNZ guy showing the play? Whenever a VTNZ guy wants to talk to me about this type of thing I go into the pit under the car and get him to show me. You'll probably find that the VTNZ guy is right and there is a problem... if you are open to the idea of there possibly being a problem that is.

If you think it is fine, then of course it is fine.

Enough of the bullshit.

If a WOF inspector fails something, he should be able to say exactly what, and what needs to be done to fix it to comply with the law. If he can't, or refuses, start hassling his boss.
