Tyre thread. The Corolla needs new shoes soon.

Right I'm going to need some new tyres for the Corolla soon.

I need 185/60R14 (stock size) or very similar. Changing wheels is not an option.

I would just put a set of Yokohama S drives on it, but they only seem to be available in 185/55R14. A little small on the sidewall, and my speedo is already reading 110km/h when I'm only going 100km/h.

Not fussed on price, nor if they are a bit noisy, but they have to grip, especially in the wet.

What else is there?

Are you after a particular sort? Coz 185/60/14s are incredibly common

A performance tyre. The 118hp is hard to contain.

Agree that your options are limited. Obviously not much demand for a good 185/60/14 anymore. Bridgestone have the RE001, but when I checked recently there were none in the country, and none on order. I had a set of RE11s, but they are far too soft for anything you want to drive everyday & lack grip when cold + pricy unless you have a hookup.

Have just got some Falken ZE912, but have not yet driven on them as motor is out of car. Do have a nice stiff sidewall on them, I find most 60 profile tyres are lacking in that department.

S-Drive are still available from japan, I have considered bringing in a couple of sets for my stockpile
