I thought you said earlier in the thread you'd learnt your lesson about flushing $$$ down the toilet

I'd wager a supercharger setup would set you back more than you'll sell the Starlet for.

Yeah I've learnt not to spend money on useless crap. It was just little mods over the 5 years of ownership that built up. It only dawned on me the other day that I've wasted over 12k on mods over the years.

Supercharger kit comes with everything needed for $3000

im the same though, last couple of cars i've wasted money on, if i had just kept it in the bank for a couple of years i would probably have 15k for something half decent, or to go towards house etc.

instead i've owned two piles of crap and have nothing

Better to be young and stupid wasting money on cars, rather old enough to know better and still doing it.

3rd car I owned was a Rover Tomcat (please don't ban me), cost me $5.5k - over the 2ish years I had it spent well over that just fixing stuff to keep it driveable and would have been more had I not had sweet hookups, sold it for under $3k in the end.

Think I had learned my lesson? Nah, got a ST205 and did much the same but over a few months instead of years. not to worry, it's still cheaper than blackjack and hookers.

kinda falls out of a few desireable catergories

too modded for the average grandperson
not modded enough for the hoon head

but hopefully you will find someone whos sweet spot it hits

also like someone jus said, good to have a daily whilst the project is out of action.

swap it for a good tow vehicle, never know when you may need one for your MX5

Have to agree with you on this one, it would need a turbo to be of interest to any hoon and old people/learner drivers dont need/want the mods its had done.

Should just get a towbar put on it and use it to tow the mx5  it only weighs 6/8ths of f*** all.

Now i think about it I dont know if i could bare to sell it since its my first car and i guess ive gotten emotionally attached

i guess i could ask the same for mine, i am thinking about upgrading to a type R teg so im trying to figure out how much i should save before putting mine up on trademe. was thinking of getting new wheels and fixing this up with better sounds and stuff but i have decided to leave it as it is and save up for a new car

how much do you guys think i could get realistically for mine?

http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=87654

body is on 230,000 kms and shows it by being a bit rough. has new shocks recently though.

some of the roughness:

then a couple small dents around it.

Just buy a bike I know for a fact ill smoke a levin on it ;) (its only a 250cc) (but the car would have me top end)

Though I am starting to think a 600 would be pretty sweet :p

If I get my new job the levin will get some more money spent on it but atm im still thinking about oz and I know the bike can be sold quick if I need to get rid of it
Why dream it when you can live it

buying an ITR is a great idea though, both me and Alex on here had one and both of us spent very little maintaining them. Great cars in stock form too

I would love another one but this time a facelift. Better grab one quick as they are already 12k for a nice one and this will go up I would say

I got 7k for mine which was average condition and it took months to sell. There is a 98 spec that has been on trademe in a yard for 15k since before I brought my 98 Spec nearly 4 years ago. People asking more than 10k for one unless it's oober tidy are going to have a hard time selling.

For someone who practically lives on toyspeed, you would think they'd know the engine was just rebuilt a few months ago before making that comment. You funny lunchie.
