Avgas in Christchurch?

Postby thornz » Tue Jan 15, 2013 1:08 pm

Anyone know where you can still buy avgas in Christchurch?
Its for a 2 stroke dirt bike, not for car use.

Also, where can I dump old fuel?

Garden city Helicopters will sell to you if you have some form of motorsport licence.

Yep this.

Was $3 a litre last time I bought it.

FYI they are anal about pumping it straight into a car, even if it is on a trailer. Just take in fuel containers.

How old? My lawn mower has always used my old fuel. Some I had was sitting around for 3-4 years in a parts car. Ran fine but was just straight fuel, not sure if yours is mixed or not.

I ran my lawnmower on leftover Avgas & 2 stroke mix for a few years, never did it any harm, just run it full speed all the time & enjoy the sweet smells as you power through the lawn.

Avgas in the mower. I'd actually want to mow the lawns just to smell the burnt goodness.

Thanks!

Will pre mix be okay going through the mower?

It'll be fine. Mowers are fairly tolerant!

I've run premix go kart fuel in the te27 when it ran out of fuel in the driveway.

I'm using the old pre-mix for my chainsaw at the moment in our mower, it loves it
