Lounge suite recovering

Postby FST4RD » Sat Feb 09, 2013 4:06 pm

Anyone recommend me someone or somewhere to recover my leather lounge suite?
I know there's some decent priced leather suites out there, but our ones are comfortable and not cheap Chinese chairs like most on the market.

I forget the exact price, but for the price my parents paid to get fabric couches recovered. I could have easily got a new suite. So i'd hate to think what leather is going to cost...

I was of the impression that leather does not wear out... You just oil it or something. Why do you want to recover them?

Leather eventually wears, it's quite old and finally started splitting, also if it makes sense the top layer has started coming off.
It's pretty much only the parts where your bum goes. Even if just that part recovered. Although if it's only going to cost a couple grand to fully recover I would probably do that.

Digging up old topics but did you find anyone to do it in the end? I've got a suite I'd like to get done, it's probably about 30 years old and so much nicer than anything I could afford to buy new.

To be honet to get the cushion part of the suite replaced (rest was fine) you could buy a cheap leather lounge suite
In the end we went to Smiths City and bought a Morgans-Lazyboy. We wanted 2 3seaters so have to wait 16 weeks, but we don't pay till they arrive. We talked the guy down from just over $5000 to $3799 for the pair with free delivery and they will take our old suite for free, although we're going to keep it.
