Best place to buy Znoelli rotors and EBC pads?
Not really a "tech question" as such...
But wheres the best place in NZ to order these items from? I'm thinking about a minor braking upgrade...

What EBC's are you looking at, and how much does your car weigh? Ive seen the greens and reds do some pretty crazy things if put under a heavy car.
Znoelli are carried by repco so if you have a freind with a trade account, hit him up.
Again though, I have seen the Znoelli rotors get seriously chewed up at just one track day, running a mid range pad. They needed over 1mm skimmed off each side after the day.

i run znoelli discs in my evo with ebc redstuff pads and they have awesome braking power
i have heard the znoellis dont stand up to track days too well but from my experience theyre great on the road
i bought my ebc pads from nzperformance and i got the rotors on trademe, there was a supplier on there that was alot cheaper than repco on my trade account

the znoelli place is in south auckland in wiri i would just go buy from them direct, my mrs went to some slotted ones for her supra with just some bendix pads from bnt and they work great on the street, havent had any expierence on track with them,
what are the benfits for using the red pads?? red stuff ?

EBC Red Stuff pads are high performance pads, they are pretty much as high performance as you can get before you go into full track spec items

I tried reds on the road, didnt like them. Ended up with Hawk HP pads which were much better.

i have had znoelli slotted disks and red stuff pads in my ma70 for years, has done at least 20 track days, many many 160k+ braking at the back straight at taupo, and thousands of street kms
There about the only thing i haven't touched on my car, work flawlessly even with a 1540kg supra
Saying that it has the nightpager upgrade with nissan 4-pots

Those EBC pads are alot of marketing hype, with bold claims about how track worthy they are, but the reality is they are aimed at people who own street cars.
On the street, you cant push brakes to anywhere near a level that you could claim they have been pushed to their limit. Most brakes will work just as well on the street, even factory pads.
On the track, when pushed hard, they tend to fail, and fail badly.
I wonder if the set of red stuffs you have in your supra are an older compound? Saying they have been in there for years, and that they still work fine tells me they might have gone a step softer with the current red stuffs, and thats what people have had fail on them.

i do believe that is the only post i have ever seen supporting EBC pads for track usage.
everyone else i've heard about trying to trackday ebc pads has horror stories. they also have low bite coefficient which is fine for road tyres.....
when on road tyres, unless the brakes are poo, the road tyres will be the limiting factor, add better tyres (semi slicks or slicks) and you'll soon find out if your brakes are up to the task or not.

I have semi slicks on the supra when at the track
From my personal experience i would say the people that are having issues with brakes on fire, or melting the pads have issues with under sized brakes or minimal cooling, or automatics or something pushing the brakes real hard
They may have changed compounds? it has been 3years properly. It was a toss up when i got them to get a set made in the mintex 1166 compound but i couldn't be bothered stuffing around with sending backing plates around the country etc etc
