Brake upgrades sw20

Postby mcfatty1000 » Sat Mar 16, 2013 1:40 am

Had a quick search but couldn't see anything on it - what are best options for brake upgrades on the Na sw20? Get them off the turbo? Any others/downfalls etc?

If you want to swap to the same thing, then yes sure swap to turbo brakes. :P

The difference is from gen 1 > gen 2 onwards, which got the bigger brakes.

If you've got a gen 1, get gen 2 brakes...

If you've got gen 2 brakes, buy decent pads and fluid.

OK, sure - what years are you talking about when you say gen 1 and 2?

I'll just go the better pads/new rotors maybe line. And braided lines, purely because it sounds cooler

1992 or there abouts.

If it's got the sticky outy front lip, it's a gen 2.

If not, it's not.

Cool,
I read somewhere (once) that the gen 3 turbos got bigger brakes but that must have been on a euro or us site, as they consider different years the cutoffs/had variations in the cars anyway

Yeah the american cars which came with 5SFE were pretty rubbish in other areas too.

A lot of their upgrades dont make sense to Japanese model cars.
