Engine Transport to Mt Maunganui?

Postby RedMist » Thu May 16, 2013 1:39 pm

Need to get an engine to and from Mt Maunganui (from Chch) on the cheap. Anyone know of any suitable transport companies?

Mainstream.

If you go from Depot to Depot its pretty cheap.
But normally you need an account with them, Best ring and find out.

Perhaps ring/call in to Bad Boy mowers in CHCH, I know they often have stuff coming back from the bay into CHCH and sending stuff up, you might be able to come to a deal with them to have an engine added to one of their freight halls.
They use TNL, and we used them to move our stuff to the NI, they supplied the pallets too, we paid cash even though we had use of an account. So they do take personal jobs too without an account. Were pretty cheap, and they do depot to depot nationwide, plus pick up and delivery
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

You must mean $170. Don't forget you're crossing the straight

nope I send engines around the country every day, based and weight and cube of a 13B i'd estimate that much.

70 sounds right, ive sent engines all round the country never paid more than $90, last 1uz i sent to chch from auckland was $68,

Im based in the mount, let me know if you need it picked up from the depot and dropped off, i can always organise to pick it up and send it back if needed, we have just switched to PBT on a national level and they are doing us some sharp pricing,

Pity i dont have any big items coming up from chch for work in the near future, could have had it chucked in

Same with Truckstops. Dozens of crates a day.

Still cheaper than the 9 speed gearbox we flew sameday to Taupo last month

Thanks for the offer Stu, certainly contact you once we finally mock up the turbo manifold. (10 days or so).
To others that have offered advice thank you very much for the much needed pointers.
Looks to be cheap enough to have the engine supported "non local".

Green Bros seem to be very knowledgeable about how to get good reliable performance without cutting too many corners (or adding too many expensive toys). All this mix and match of major engine components is confusing the shyte out of me.

My current engine is a 13brew with one housing S4, a S4 water pump and a 12a front cover. FUBAR? Yep...
