7agte idleing problem

Postby NOLAW » Mon May 20, 2013 8:18 am

Hey guys

The 7agte seems to be idling really rough, it could be nothing but I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be as rough as it is, it sounds like its missing and when you give it gas and back off it drops real low in revs and sometimes turns off, any help would be great or even anyone in the bop/whakatane area wants to take a look for a box or something if they think they might be able source the problem then that's welcomed, even if you guys let me know possible causes then I can start eliminating things and get it sorted

Cheers guys

Engines a similar setup to bazda's, same internals etc running a blacktop 20v head, ecu is a link g3

Hey Barry, it didnt seem so bad when I picked it up but it seems to have got worse which has got me thinking maybe a vacume hose or something has come off somewhere, that could also be completely irelavent too, could be something to do with tuning but I wana eliminate all other possibilities first if possible

Id get the tachometer working dude,
Wouldnt be suprised the idle is lower than it sounds (not quite in the swwet spot), this will also allow you to see whats going with the idle with it before it dies

sounds awesome currently though, like it has a mega camshaft lump to it

No toyota expert but the vvt solenoid i assume is nomally closed does it have power to it at idle? idle change with it unplugged?
