JZA80 diffs, a02b to b03b

Postby 92mr2paddy » Mon Jun 03, 2013 11:27 pm

just recently finished an auto to 6sd conversion on the mrs supra, currently still has the auto diff which is a A02B (torsend lsd 3.769 ratio) which is pretty crap for the v160 getrag as the speedo is all out etc,
my own supra has the v160 and its got a B03B diff in it, so im guessing i need to find a complete B03B diff to swap into the former auto supra??

i read up about this and the factory 6spd supras have the 'big' diff 220mm ringgear and the auto diffs are 'small' 200mm,
just wanting to make sure they will swap out as obviously the internal parts wont due the ring gear size?
just wanting to check the driveshaft and axles will bolt up as i dont know if they are differnet from auto to 6spd's. using auto rear half driveshaft and 6spd front half atm and that works fine.

any help be great,, and if someone HAS one of these 'rare' diffs hit me up :o

6spd SZ-R's use the 3.7 torsen rear diff same as the auto TT, if your speedo is out its due to the clash between the speed sensor on the getrag and the speedo head in the dash cluster. I think the easiest way to sort it is to change the speedo head, as I dont think an auto speed sensor will work in the getrag box.

mm that could be the case aswell but main reason i want to change it is 6th gear sits at around 3k at 100ks where in my car its around 2.2, and the gears are realy 'short' throughout becasue of it. when the diff is changed the speedo should then read correct aswell?

does anybody know for sure that a B03B (big) diff will fit into the spot of the auto one if i decide to get one later down the track?

from memory you need the diff itself & one axle (think its the LH one)
