Hi all, I posted earlier about temps not rising and heater output poor on my Cynos B. After filling up at the garage today, I noticed a puddle of coolant under the car - not good !!!
I've checked my radiator for visible leaks and the top / bottom hoses but they all look good. There is a quantity of water, however, dripping down from the back of the engine compartment and evaporating on the exhaust pipe as it passes underneath. Obviously not good for cooling, or for the exhaust because it's rusting.
I have checked the hose from the thermostat housing to the heater inlet and it seems good and gets hot. The return hose, however, doesn't seem to get hot and is very brittle. I think this hose may have perished but it's awkwarde to see as it passes down the back of the engine - where does this hose connect back to ? It looks to go under the engine near the timing cover ??? Anyone got any other ideas why I am suffering coolant loss from somewhere at the back of the engine bay ?? Thanks all !
