Shortest toyota oil filter

Postby KinLoud » Tue Jun 18, 2013 1:00 pm

Tried TS search and google

Looking for a shorter oil filter than standard 4age one (for example)
I'd thought it was a 1uz filter but maybe I'm wrong

Any comments? Pics?

Thanks
Ken
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Do you have one in stock to measure?
Thanks

this might help:
http://infodozer.com/catalogs/filters-u ... 0915-10001

shortest I found that will 100% fit is 90915-10001
the shortest that might fit is 15601-87204
http://infodozer.com/catalogs/filters-u ... 5601-87204

Edit: it looks like 90195-10001 is identical to 90915-10003 ....

10002/10004 for 3SGT/4AG (Ryco Z432)
10001/10003 is the shorter 3SGE filter (Z386)

the later numbers supercede the earlier numbers

All those are the same fitment. 90915-10003 is the smallest Toyota one.
Go have a look at Daihatsu. They did a tiny one that might share the same fitment

The oil filter from a daihatsu copen turbo was ridiculously short (for good reason on that car too)?

4agte for my AA63 Carina racecar

Will run an oil cooler but don't want to use a remote filter unless I really have to.
Filter direct onto sandwich plate is simpler, takes up less room, less plumbing etc.
Standard filter has 6mm clearance from exhaust manifold (evilSi)
More clearance plus a bit of heat shielding around exhaust runner should be sweet

Like revvy mentioned theres the Daihatsu option which is roughly 66mm tall (15601-97202) vs the Toyota one roughly 73mm (90915-10003).
And the 4AGE filter at roughly 88mm

Thanks everyone
Bought the Daihatsu option (15601-97202)
Will see if it will work with my sandwich plate.
The threaded portion goes into the filter base rather than sticking out...
So will see if there is enough length of thread to engage the filter properly
Will post my progress
