What would happen?

Bored again. Humor me.

What would happen if a car with ABS was stationary with the service brakes applied and enough force to overcome the coefficient of friction between the tyres and road was applied gradually to the rear in an attempt to move it.

Would it slide forward on locked wheels or roll forwards with brake applications/release as per ABS?

Assume the engine is running at ~3000rpm, throttle position isn't 0%, coefficient of friction between discs and pads is higher than that of tyre and road, vehicle has basic abs without fancypants EBD, VSC, ESP, ESC, DSC and the rest.

ABS wouldnt do anything, so you'd slide forward on locked wheels. No wheel speed signal from all four wheels, and no detectable deceleration from acceleration sensor. ABS turns off when wheel speed is below some minimum threshold (~5-10kph)

^ This was pretty much my answer when the question was posed to me today and I was told that I was wrong and asked to work out why.

I know I'm right because ABS doesn't do anything without a speed differential between the wheel speed sensors but thought I'd double check before I mouth off

To be fair this same person told me my RX8 can't do a stationary skid because ABS won't let the rear wheels spin faster than the front wheels.

Service brake/hand brake/e brake is a seperate system, so yes it would just skid the back wheels and free wheel the front (pending weather its fwd and in gear)

Service brake as in stuff connected to pedal not emergency brake/park brake.
