1600 na, and they have lots of torques. Just had a look on TM and they seem to be rare as hens teeth now though, people wanting stupid money.

There was one down in Wellington a couple of weeks back, that was a good price, i tried to contact the seller multiple times but got no response. Was sold very quick probably at that price.
Other problem with these is finding a manual

Surely either a SW20 or AW11 would be the go? Both reasonably well balanced enough to survive a corner or seven with non existent brakes/shocks.

Yep someone's got a gen 3 SW20 already.

Dunno how they manage to get one for $2k or less, but it's a pretty good option for a longer race...

Not having just one end of the car do all of the work tires and brakes wise, good vented brakes which will take a bit of punishment and the factory two piece baffled sump etc which addresses issues like oil surge etc that I'd imagine a few cars might have issue with.

Haha, okay. I guess they're pretty old these days, thinking about it, shit a brick a gen 3 SW20 is 20 years old now.

I remember when you used to be a balla if you had a fancy new gen 3

(Probably around the time that people stopped saying balla)

Amazing day at Hampton Downs for the first 2K Cup run out.
Unfortunately BROKE IT!!!
Rear crank seal gave up on last few laps of first 33min race, 1 of 2 Levins with the same failure, so unfortunately didn't make it to the second race, not bad for a 20yr old car that you've just been bouncing off 8000rpm between gears.
Qualifying was wet so ended up having to run my WOF set of wheels & tyres as my race set were a virtually a worn out set of road tyres. The track dried out so ended up running the rave tyres which took 5secs off my qualifying times.
Second lap of qualifying got bitten by the oversteer on the last corner and ended up on the grass. And about 4 laps into the race over cooked it over start finish line into first corner to try and get down the inside and ended up looking back up the hill with all the cars coming over the crest towards me.
First time out in anger with this car so I'm happy as its all about learning and fun.

Well done soft lad, sounds like a fun day. I have bought a BZR for $1900 from Trademe seller in Hamilton, with intention to enter series. It is in need of a new bonnet ( you may have seen the scoop in the TM photos !!)

My brother has a BZG he got for $1999 from TM, in Tauranga. He also hope to enter.

I thought the black tops have to run in the 2L class because of power for displacement?

2.10: Any vehicle with a power output of more than 100.5hp per litre will be entered into the engine capacity class above its size.

When did a standard blacktop make more than 121kw from 1.6L?

Factory rating is 121kw, and it's measured on that basically.
