As shown by the "Swedish Auto Motor Sport" at the bottom, and the Swedish supercar, and the guy talking about Sweden and being proud to be a Swede :P

As an aside, brilliant host, just wish the subtitles were are little more accurate.

i got bored and skipped through a lot of it, but from what i saw it was a swedish clarkson...
drifting that usually ends in spins, crazy laughing, bad jokes and the occasional bit of actual car info

is everyone just too used to top gear now?

Not at all, its one of, if not the best format for a car show, ever!

Predictable? Yes, but when compared to its pathetic and unloved cousins aka Top Gear Oz and Top Gear USA, its perfect :)

Very Top Gear like clip.

Top Gear is excellent - but it's more of an entertainment / travel show now.

For actual opinions on cars, I look up 5th Gear Episodes. I think Tiff Needell is the best car reviewer on the planet (& one hell of a driver).

It's like Top Gear, if every episode focused on one awesome car.

Stirring it up....

Postby jondee86 » Wed Jun 26, 2013 6:41 pm

Jeremy Clarkson is a tired old hack, and should have been put
out to pasture a long ago. Watching Top Gear reminds me of
Morecambe and Wise... laboured, outdated, hackneyed... but
for some reason the Poms like comedy where you can see the
gags coming a mile away (<== a kilometre away just doesn't
have the same ring to it).

The Swedish guy might not be the answer, but at least he didn't
take himself too seriously :)

Cheers... jondee86

PS: And that thing sounds wicked on the limiter !!!

Tiff is still a good watch, especially if you want to hear from someone who actually knows something about cars.

And can casually talk to the camera while having a car pushed fairly hard

Love the "wrumm" caption

Nothing at all wrong with Clarkson and co for entertainment.
May have started off where Needell has ended up but comparing the two isn't exactly apple with apples is it.

Top Gear = Entertainment
5th Gear = Car info

But really, early seasons of Wheeler dealers is where it's at!

Yeah love Wheeler Dealers.

There is another show, Strippers: Cars for Cash.

It is the polar opposite of Wheeler Dealers, unlikable blokes rip apart cars for parts and sell them off for a profit to the highest bidder.

Learned so much from Wheeler Dealers. The mechanic really makes things easy to understand. Watched an episode recently where the main guy trades his way up from cheap cars to more expensive ones. Seemed alright, but I lost interest pretty quickly.
