the fallen303 wrote:finally did oil change on the aristo a few weeks back. it was pretty yuck. we did it a bit odd though. to change the oil we unbolted everything off the front of the car to give us more room, and the aircon/fan etc from the passengers foot well. we then removed the engine and sat it on the ground along with trans, driveshaft and diff. we then changed the filter. before we put fresh oil in it we put the engine into the new aristo shell along with trans, etc. redid the needed bits, then filled it with oil.

not bad for an afternoons work...

come again?????
Also thinking of an Aristo/supta meet in Auckland in August, interested?

haha, thought that would sound odd :p the original car was too rusty from a repair in japan, found another shell and swapped everything into it.

interested, yes, alas, severe illness keeps me housebound, so no trips for me...

Picked up the drivers footmat, and carefully tipped most of the drivers window onto the ground outside the car. Some f^&%n toerag decided he wanted my $40 sunglasses obviously.

One of the reasons i haven't upgraded from a shitheap (97 mondeo wagon in $1000 ex german backpacker spec) is to avoid this sort of shit. I figured it was so rough that I could park it almost anywhere and no asshat would bother breaking into it since there is obviously nothing of value in it. At least they could have done the decent thing and stolen it!

whats left is still sitting there. the silver car was mostly complete minus drivers door, switches, engine and bumpers. green car we just took those bits off, and the tidier bits between the two to make one. if after anything pm me for my number.

cars going well. got a trd bonnet for it now, engine bays is all repaired and painted, and starting to get everything back together now. I think he's just going for a temp turbo for now to be able to get everything up and running and so we can start debugging everything, then can go from there. his call not mine, lol. other than that it's progressing nicely. dad moves in a couple of months, so dad and glenn are wanting both dads and my supras finished to a state of driveability before then. should be good :)

flick him a txt if you still have his number, i'm sure he'd love a catch up

Yesterday made the incredibly illegal drive from my Mums garage in Akaroa, where it has been collecting dust since I fled shakey old Christchurch for the blacker pastures of Wellington back in 2011, to my Dads carport.
Today I pulled the intake, intercooler and associated piping and cam cover off.
Cracked the downpipe bolts accessible from above.

Oh I also woke up the neighbours baby whilst backing into the drive. What a dick

After 10 years of ownership and almost 190,000km of driving, I fcuking crashed into the back of someone today
Bent the bonnet, pushed the guards so they hooked up on the doors, smashed a headlight/bumper. Bent the bumper support and radiator support panel.

Lucky for me it was still drivable, no fluid loss. So its in the shed getting a minor make over. All broken bits removed and steel realigned, guards beaten semi straight and put back on. Be back on the road within a week :)

Finally got a set of polished factory wheels on the MR2 with my good tyres off my old one. Only taken me since last November to get it all sorted. Drives so much nicer than it did on 17"s.

Used some black pasti-dip and rubberised by chrome grill matt-black. Worked pretty well, going to do the rest of the chrome parts next week.
