If you read more of the forum you would understand the "owning a home, rich guy" comment. And you'd also see in this thread, he admits he can earn more in his current job than being a really good mechanic. That pretty much explains itself I thought. A wise financial move on his behalf, no matter how good he is with spanners.

Nice work on calling people pricks (from behind your keyboard I might add), when you have no idea what the comments refer to. If you had read the threads the comments refer to, you would not have pulled out the name calling that's fo sho.

its nice to have a topic that people are enthusiastic about. I enjoy my job and feel i get paid alright for it. Its too late to 'try something different'.. got 3 mouths to feed.. soon to be 4, and applying to buy our first home. Best to work my ass off and be the best i can be so i can support my family.

In Tauranga the average rate for a qualified wof ticketed mechanic is rougly mid 20's.. house prices are still reasonable here atleast.

Thank you for standing up for me :). I honestly appreciate it. Saying that, I am not offended by "dodgy" comments, as I often find the offtopic section a good place to rant (some people, if not most, will call it "whinging") often going in taboo or being anti-politically correct.
This can be used against me, but I like a very good debate once in awhile, I do not mind when people bring up my weaknesses (it is good for making high horse shrink into donkey).

Although many argue why I am bringing up odd-ball topics on a car forum... well, I must admit: this is my only social place on the internet, that is somewhat connected to reality (I have met/dealt with many members from this forum), and mostly is filled with very reasonable people that I am proud (mostly ;)) to debate with, or simply ask for help. I can tell you that the toyspeed is very unique in that regard, for some reason this forum avoided immature pricks that other forums are full of.

TL;DR. Another tangent completely unrelated to original post.

This is the only NZ forum I frequent, and for the most part, I find it far better than 99% of the other forums Ive perused.

There are no stand out idiots on here that cause trouble just for the sake of it, and/or disrespect other members for no reason, and best of all, most members tend to be reasonably helpful, rather than filling the forum with "search noob" posts.

<3 you TS :)

+1 to the above

also for jbods benefit im pretty sure everyone here loves sergei for one reason or another, so if it sounded like we were being mean it was probably more about the familiarity of many years of friendly back and forth in the aforementioned debates :P

Allgood buddy looks like I was apparently confused, I just don't take bullying on any level no matter who.

this is the gift and the curse of this forum. I come check and see very few updates. Quality over quantity I guess.

Agreed^

I would far prefer to have a small group of mature regulars(somewhat), than a busy forum full of 'txt speak' questions about the best way to get moar power out of a 4AGE, bae.
