Here's another AE86 of questionable value http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=628340085
$18k, looks tidy. But even a mint '83 RX7 would be advertised for less...

I'd much rather a series 1 or 2 rx7 to be honest. A more unique car IMO, mainly the motor sets the rx7 apart. I remember when I was around 7 or 8 our babysitter had an rx7, all the kids at school thought we were so cool! Lol

Was probably 120kw at the engine then. I dunno it was close to 6 or 7 years ago, before I went overseas. So I think I must have been 18. So could be even longer ago.

The guys name was Donny

Was from Singapore

I believe it ended up in christchurch.

Anyway it was one of the first "fast cars" I ever went in so you know how the memory can make things seem better than they were.

I remember racing a a stock s14turbo and it wasn't much quicker, then again that could mean anything.

I think that might be it, in my memory it looked much cooler, with a much more widebody kit, funny how the mind plays tricks on you.

I imagine it'll sell reasonably quickly on TM at that price though. 7AGE and other good bits will make it appeal.

I had a silvertop with an exhaust and blacktop cams with a cold air intake and a link g3. Made 106kw atw.

So really would 110-120 be that much harder.

Proper set of headers and some better cams would have it there wouldn't it?

I remember you being a fairly nice chap when you joined TS so I will take that as a compliment.

Is there anyone on here that knows the guy in New Plymouth selling the 12.5k AE86?? Literally responds to nothing and can't get in touch with the guy. If anyone can help out that would be great, I'm chasing my tail trying to contact him!

I've been told the seller has rejected all offers made, including one for $12.5K & said he now plans on keeping it, but still continues to relist it on Trademe.

Try sending a pm to andyling

He's the previous owner, may still have a contact, or at least will be able to tell you some info about it.
