AE110 Levin Front susp. and engine mt replacement

Postby G-shock » Thu Sep 12, 2013 2:10 pm

Got a 1996 Levin with out super strut suspension and just the boring 1.5 engine that has a cracked front engine mount, what's the best way to replace the engine mount, looking at it I either need a rattle gun to undo the bolt or remove the radiator to get enough room to swing a spanner to undo it?

I've ordered these arms http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-Suspension ... 0657384%26

Any tricks to replacing them or tips?

Can't recall exact setup for the mount (and it's too dark to look). But you should be able to do it easy enough with a power bar, then ratchet. Just make sure to take the engine weight with a trolley jack before you completely undo the mount to swap it out.

For the suspension arms, if you have axle stands have the front sitting on those. Remove the wheels to get some access, then just remove however suits. Not too many bolts.

Cheers, I had a look last night when I got the engine mount, I think if I take the plastic off under the car I can get enough room to swing a power bar going from below the car.

I got axle stands recently after replacing the rear shocks in my 300ZX, didn't expect to have to use them so soon again! hate working under cars with bolts that don't want to come undone.
There seems to be about 6 bolts per arm, I better get another can of CRC.

I'll do the engine mount when it stops raining and still waiting on the arms to arrive.
