New tow bar set up

Hey guys, my toyota corona has a decent tow bar on it and my dad is thinking about keeping it as a tow car when I leave christchurch. The only issue is the car does not have the electrical connection to hook up to the trailor.

Does anyone have any idea how much it might cost to set up the wires and plugs for connecting the brake lights etc etc to the car.

Anyone who is living in christchurch and is able to do the job we would be happy to pay cash but it must be done legally and properly

Real easy to do yourself, You can but the Narva sockets from repco or supercheap, they come with little push/press on wire splicing type connectors that you just hook up to the tail/brake/indicator/reverse light wiring as per the colour code that comes with the socket.

You will need a multimeter or test light to make sure you have the correct wire going to the various lights in the car etc..

I usually leave the plug in the boot and pop the cable out and close the boot on it when needed

thanks for that but I would prefer to have someone do it who has some skill or who has done it b4, would be happy to pay cash for the right person.

I could do it, but i'm too lazy for that. If no one offers up, i'm sure most auto electricians could wire it up quickly.

Often there is a connector in the boot area for trailer lights - have a look.
If there is just get the adapter cable from toyota.
Did this in a mid 90's camry wagon I owned
